The exterior has been painted using a blended technique with Annie Sloan Chalk Paints, creating a soft olive green finish with subtle lilac undertones. The interior shelving and writing surface have been painted in a contrasting pink, adding a playful but refined pop of colour when the bureau is open.

The cabriole legs and drawers have been left unpainted to showcase the beautifully wax-stained wood grain, adding warmth and character to the overall design. The original drawer pulls have been lightly polished while maintaining their aged patina, preserving the vintage charm of the piece.

A new working lock and key system has also been fitted, making this bureau both practical and decorative.

Condition

This writing bureau is in good vintage condition and stands solid. It has been refurbished with care, but as with all pre-loved and vintage furniture, it may still show signs of its previous life. These small signs of age are part of the character and history of the piece. Please note that the left edge of the closing lid is missing, but this has been sanded down to a smooth finish. This does not affect the overall use or appearance of the bureau. All painted furniture is sealed with furniture wax, oil, or varnish unless otherwise stated. Soft pads are placed on the underside of legs and furniture where suitable to help protect floors and interiors.
